I live in a village just south of Winchester and often seek inspiration from the local countryside in Hampshire.  We are not far from the coast which is a also a rich source of inspiration. 

Whether close to home or further away, on holiday for example, careful observation, through drawing and painting, helps me to form a connection with the landscape that is not possible by merely looking with the eyes of a tourist.
