I use artist quality watercolour pigments by Winsor & Newton and Maimeri Blu.

A limited palette of colours is often all that is needed for a successful landscape painting.

My palette has warm and cool versions of each of the primary colours plus a few earth colours.

I usually choose from the following limited range:

Lemon Yellow

Cadmium Yellow

Alizarin Crimson or Permanent Magenta or Rose Lake

Light Red or Venetian Red

Winsor Blue

Cobalt Blue

French Ultramarine

Raw Sienna

Burnt Sienna

Burnt Umber

Payne's Grey

Neutral Tint

My paper of choice is archival quality, acid-free watercolour paper made by St. Cuthbert's Mill: either Bockingford or Saunders Waterford (100% cotton). I have also used a 100% cotton paper made by the Chinese firm Baohong.
