Terms of Sale

If you would like to buy one of my paintings, please note the following information.
I usually sell my paintings unmounted and unframed. Paintings for sale are displayed on the website with approximate sizes. Most of my paintings are either approximately 10” x 7”, 12” x 9” or 15” x 11”. If you would like to check the exact size of the painting, please get in touch.
Watercolours can sometimes appear slightly dull in their “raw” state. They always look best mounted and framed behind glass. The glass protects the artwork and also serves to “lift” the colours visually, whilst the mount will protect the painted surface by preventing contact with the glass. I recommend that you have the painting mounted and framed professionally. An experienced framer would be able to advise on the best options for a particular painting, taking your own tastes into account.
Bearing this in mind, there is always a risk when buying online a painting you have not seen mounted and framed in real life. It is important to me that you should be fully happy with your painting. Do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions before you commit to a purchase. However, if you feel that you need to return a painting for any reason, please get in touch as soon as possible and at least within 48 hours of receipt.
Shipping is currently free of charge.
I do my best to ensure that the images displayed online faithfully represent the original paintings. However, the colours and tones may differ slightly from the original. This is partly because not all computer monitors, or other display equipment are calibrated in the same way to reproduce colours identically.
Following the sale of any painting the image copyright remains with Howard Smith. When purchasing an original artwork, you are purchasing only the physical item itself. All intellectual property rights for any painting remain with the artist, Howard Smith. All forms of reproduction of the image or distribution thereof by any means are not permitted without express permission from the artist.
If you would like any further information, please feel free to contact me at any time, thank you.
